Mans Early Victorian Jacket

Normally the trousers would be a different shade to the jacket, but on this occassion we were asked to make them the same. The trousers are the same style as the ones below.

Fall front trousers

1830/40's style trousers. These have a drop down flap front rather than a fly fastening. The check material makes a very dandy pair of trousers.

Double breasted waistcoat with shawl collar.

Greenwich pensioners

We were asked to custom make child size replicas of the coats worn by Greenwich Naval pensioners, for use by a theatre company at Greenwich Museum.
The blue coat was everyday wear, but the custard yellow and red was the "naughty" coat.
If you misbehaved, eg were drunk, you had to wear that for the day.
This was an interesting project as all we had to go on were some paintings of the pensioners. The pattern had to be designed and drawn up before we could embark on making the coats.
Clients were so satisfied with them that we were asked to make another two.
